Turkey’s one of the biggest private industry park, European Free Zone (EFZ) is located in an industrial centre at Tekirdağ/Corlu region and was established on a 2.000.000 m2 area by the conclusion of the council of ministers 16.10.1996 date and 96/910 arbitrament and 19.03.1997 official newspaper issued and started to operate on 1999. Because of the strategic location, EFZ is playing a very inportant role of the Turkish foreign trade. By the beginning of 2008 the trade volume reached to 2Billion dollars.

İnvestors’ Point of View

Throughout the world there are two main barriers for the foreign trade globally; first is competitive cost, second is bureaucracy. Advantages and exemptions such as, exemption of corporate tax, exemption from customs duities and Value Added Tax, permission to keep records on a foreign currency, transit trade options, unlimited tax free stock keeping, able to import second hand machinery and so on makes production cost go down lower and removing the risk of losing time that produced by bureaucracy.

Infrastructure

The project of EFZ was drawn by one of USA’s biggest architectural groups, Swanke Hayden Connel Architects and an infrastructure such as electric, water, natural gas, waste water, waste treatment, roads, communications and all the simmilar infrastructures are reaching its users under assurance of DIN EN ISO 9001-2000 quality certificate. Not only EFZ services limited with infrastructure but also construction liability, food service, informatics, insurance, maintenance, loading/unloading, warehouse , consultancy, private security, conference room services are also available.

Strategic Location

Geographical Location of Corlu and surroundings and together with industry concentration of İstanbul, Kocaeli, Bursa, are the most important areas of industry in Turkey. EFZ is one hour away from Turkey’s biggest industry and trade region of İstanbul and location is on top of main access.
