Turkey's one of the biggest private industry park, European Free Zone (EFZ) is located in an industrial centre at Tekirdağ/Corlu region and was established on a 2.000.000 m2 area by the conclusion of the council of ministers 16.10.1996 date and 96/910 arbitrament and 19.03.1997 official newspaper issued and started to operate on 1999. Because of the strategic location, EFZ is playing a very inportant role of the Turkish foreign trade. By the beginning of 2008 the trade volume reached to 2Billion dollars.
